IA: Feedback sought on community solar, DG rate design

Alliant Energy has scheduled a meeting this week to solicit feedback on its preliminary pilot plans from participants in a marathon DG proceeding before the Iowa Utilities Board. The June 16 meeting will include:  (1) background information on Alliant Energy’s grid operations, system resource planning and rate-making principles; (2) detailed descriptions of Alliant Energy’s preliminary pilot designs for its Community Solar pilot and Residential/General Service and Large General Service Customer-Owned Renewables Rate Design pilots; and (3) a small group breakout session to gather participant input.

Alliant Energy has proposed — in this proceeding — to end net metering for all new residential and general service DG customers. It also seeks to move new DG customers to a buy-all/sell-all arrangement for any exported electricity, and to end credit banking.
