Jeremy Abcug graduated from Duke University in May 2022 with his Master of Environmental Management with a concentration in Energy & Environment. During his time at Duke, Jeremy worked alongside the Puerto Rico Community Fund to help establish the Caribbean’s first community-owned PV solar utility on the island of Culebra, Puerto Rico. As part of this project, he assisted in building a rate-design model to find a lower-than-conventional $/kWh rate that maximizes benefits for non-profit and C&I subscribers in the community.

Jeremy also spent a summer working at the Itaipu Dam (one of the world leaders of electricity production in the last 20 years) in Foz do Igaucu, Brazil, where he assisted with a variety of electricity generation projects, including assessing the feasibility of deploying biogas-fueled microgrids to power rural and last-mile communities in Brazil.

Jeremy cares deeply about universal access to affordable and reliable clean energy and is excited to contribute to this area of expertise at EQ Research.
