FL: Utility-backed solar ballot initiative blows past rival

Florida’s utility-backed solar ballot initiative (15-17) has now collected approximately 82,000 more signatures than a rival initiative sponsored by Floridians for Solar Choice (14-02) — even though the latter initiative had a seven-month head start. The utility-backed initiative, which is currently under review by the Florida Supreme Court, is quickly closing in on reaching 50% of the signatures required to make the state’s 2016 ballot. The initiative supported by Floridians for Solar Choice has collected 37% thus far.
