Michigan regulators have approved Consumers Energy’s proposed changes to its Customer Renewable Energy Tariff, which applies to subscribers of the utility’s community solar program. Under the Public Service Commission’s decision, Consumers Energy will scrap the $50.00 pre-subscription fee and retire RECs associated with program participation on behalf of participating customers. Previously, the program design allowed associated RECs to be sold rather than retired.
