Con Edison has proposed a new REV Demonstration Project Proposal that calls for the installation of front-of-the-meter battery storage facilities totaling 4.2 MW/4.4 MWh at four strategically selected commercial customer locations. Rather than benefiting from demand rate reduction, participating customers would be offered a lease payment in exchange for the space to site the storage assets. The system(s) would be dispatched primarily to provide transmission and distribution benefits, and could also participate in NYISO wholesale markets.
The overall project cost is approximately $11.7 million.
