Operation Get Organized! in Connecticut begins for omnibus legislation

Share

The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) in Connecticut have kicked off a new proceeding to get organized. It seeks to develop a strategy, procedural roadmap, and timeline so it can meet the deadlines laid out in the omnibus bill, An Act Concerning Connecticut’s Energy Future, signed by Governor Malloy. This bill requires PURA to start implementing certain pieces by September 1, and ultimately requires PURA to establish new tariff-based programs for for low- and zero-emission, shared, and residential clean energy facilities (and eventually, requires PURA to eliminate net metering for new facilities) (among other things). Once PURA gets organized, it will dive into the substance of developing the required regulations.
