The Oregon Public Utilities Commission has launched a proceeding to investigate electric utilities’ participation as credit generators in the state’s Clean Fuels Program, and to develop guidelines for utility participation and how revenues from participation might be allocated consistent with the public interest.
Electricity as a transportation fuel is eligible for Oregon’s Clean Fuels Program. PUC staff believes that utilities could gain significant monetary value for their customers based on growing EV ownership in their service territories. Staff is seeking stakeholders with expertise in electric vehicles (EVs).
