Energy Policy Expert Joins EQ Research

CARY, NC – JULY 18, 2019 – EQ Research, the national energy consulting firm known for Policy Vista™, an online platform tracking and analyzing regulatory proposals, state legislation and general rate cases, announced today the addition of Jamie Van Nostrand as an Energy Policy Expert for EQ Research.

Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jamie advises clients on regulatory strategy and provides expert testimony before regulatory commissions on such issues as integrated resource planning, resource acquisitions, climate change and grid resilience, and utility business and regulatory models. Jamie currently serves as Professor and Director of the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development at the West Virginia University College of Law.

Jamie has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry, and most recently served as a Senior Policy Advisor to Chairman John Rhodes of the New York Public Service Commission. Jamie has a wide range of experience on clean energy issues, including valuation and rate design for distributed energy resources, pricing and policies for electric vehicle charging, performance-based ratemaking, climate action planning, and the operation of regional wholesale electricity markets.

For over two decades, Jamie represented energy clients in state regulatory proceedings in eight western states, as well as proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He was recognized by the Energy Bar Association as its 2007 State Regulatory Practitioner of the Year. Jamie also served as Executive Director of the Pace Energy and Climate Center in White Plains, New York.
